Breaking

We offer breaking in for horses!

After some years where we have not taken horses in breaking, we have now resumed this activity at the stud. We have partnered with Simon Enø and already in the spring 2013 ridden some horses with great success. Call to learn more about how we do or read the following little article about breaking in - we are running after this concept.

Our motto is that it should be a good experience for the horse to be ridden, and it is done only through creating trust between horse and human.

Breaking and ridingtest

When the young horse must be broked in, it is like any other thing you do with the horse - it must have confidence in what you do. Therefore go slow forward in the process.

It's a good idea to be two people when you start to breake the horse. You start by calmly putting the saddle on the horse, while your helper holds the horse. Then tighten the girth loose. The saddle must not be so loose that it slides back into the groin or down the side of the horse. You let the horse get used to the new and after the few times in longen with the saddle strapped, you can calmly hang on the horse. And after a short time can you sit up. Remember always that the work you do around your horse is calm and quiet so that it always has confidence in you and what you do about it.

If the horse has to do a ridingtest, you must begin in good time before. You can not breake a horse on one month! Our recommendation is to spend 3 months on training, before you are going to a ridingtest. When you use the time of about 3 month, you have time to take it slow and then reach the goal: that the horse goes freely forward the bite without being hampered by soreness or other deficiencies which it has incurred during training because it is perhaps been forced up on the short time. It also applies young horses only to ride trained a few times a week. The horse's muscles are at this early stage yet so strong that it can carry rider quite a long period of time and only a few times a week.
The last couple of days before the test "pet" the horse. It must be washed and finally grooming. It thus has no real work but walked a little trip.
